Since its founding in 2007, Mango Languages has grown to become one of the world's leading providers of online language learning products. Mango is free for all Chilmark Library patrons, accessible through the library’s website with a Chilmark library card number. We now offer 77 languages! Mango also has a mobile app so you can learn on the go.

Each lesson combines real life situations and audio from native speakers with simple, clear instructions. The courses are presented with an appreciation for cultural nuance and real-world application that integrates components of vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and culture.

July 9, 5p.m., Taking the Stand – Alan Dershowitz talks about his memoir.

July 10, 5p.m., U.S. Slave Song Project – a performance of songs about the slave experience, all written before 1865.

July 16, 5p.m., Fresh From the Farm – former Fine Cooking Magazine editor Susie Middleton talks about her new book.

July 23, 5p.m., De-extinction - Co-founders of Revive & Restore, Stewart Brand (founder/editor of the Whole Earth Catalog) and Ryan Phelan, will talk about the science of de-extinction, reviving the Woolly Mammoth, and how genomic technology could bring the Heath Hen back to Martha's Vineyard.

July 30, 5p.m., The Nature of Martha’s Vineyard – Felix Neck Director Suzan Bellincampi talks about her new book.

Aug. 6, 5p.m., Boston College professor Cathy Utzschneider talks about her new book Mastering Running – Run Your Best At Age 30 and Beyond.

Aug. 13, 5p.m., Thomas Hart Benton on Martha’s Vineyard - the Chilmark Historical Commission presents art historian Henry Adams discussing the renowned artist.

Aug. 20, 5p.m., Mainstreaming Torture:  Ethical Approaches in the Post 9/11 United States with University of San Francisco professor Rebecca Gordon.

Aug. 21, 5p.m., Author John Hough talks about his new book Little Bighorn.

Aug. 27, 5p.m., MV Museum curator Bonnie Stacy talks about her new book Martha’s Vineyard, featuring photographs of the island from the Museum collection.
